Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Kolkata Police has officially denied social media claims that three ISIS-linked terrorists, disguised as IT professionals, were arrested from the Kasba area by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). In a public statement issued on Tuesday, police stated that no such arrest has been made by the NIA or any other law enforcement agency.
The statement termed the viral claim “completely false and malicious” and clarified that it is entirely untrue. Authorities said the information being circulated is aimed at spreading misinformation and creating unnecessary panic among the public. The police emphasised that such rumours are baseless and hold no factual ground.
Kolkata Police warned that strict legal action will be taken against individuals who are found deliberately spreading such content. The department urged the public to refrain from forwarding or sharing unverified information and advised everyone to rely only on official sources for accurate updates.
